Invitation to Holy Communion

We believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the bread and wine by his Word of promise. All baptized persons may receive the Sacrament for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith. Generally, small children are brought forward to receive a blessing.

Due to the on-going threat of the corona virus and with the urging of health experts, St. Peter Lutheran will not be having worship or any gatherings in our buildings prior to April 5, 2020. Rather, we shall migrate our worship services online during these weeks on our social media accounts which you will be able to access through this website, Facebook and YouTube.

A special church council meeting was convened on Monday, March 16th, 2020 to discuss how our church should go forward. We had gone before the Lord with a clear set of guidelines. Firstly, we would speak with churches in our area and within our faith tradition to determine what decisions they had arrived at and how they had arrived there. Secondly, as per Romans 13, we listened to those in authority who have all recommended these actions. Indeed, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 informs us that there are many gifts and those are given by the Spirit. Finally, we have all prayed diligently for the Spirit of wisdom (Proverbs 4:6-7) and courage (Isaiah 41:10), faith, hope, and charity (1 Corinthians 13:13). With all of this input we balanced a desire for God's restoration of all things (Acts 3:21) and being good stewards of the health of our neighbors (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Paul states in Galatians 6:10, "So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."

It was therefore decided to reevaluate how we perform the act of worship for the next few weeks. The physical church building will be closed for all events during these weeks as per the recommendations we received. After that time, we will again meet to assess the situation.

The church's work will continue. Full services will be performed and then posted online to the church's social media pages.
